Believe this, Sugar!

img_0800Whoa! This review that came out yesterday in JAMA states that there was a sugar industry cover up on research done that made sugar look good and saturated fats look like the bad guy in heart disease. The sugar industry bought the research for a few thousand dollars back over 30 years ago and we have been led to believe that fats are bad and sugars are good.. It is clear that sugar is not such a benign substance in the body and saturated fats are not as malevolent as we were told.

This historical analysis uses internal sugar industry documents to describe how the industry sought to influence the scientific debate over the dietary causes of coronary heart disease in the 1950s and 1960s.
